I’m American and I’m cheering on our demise. So frustrating.

Let’s hope so, we should copy China’s approach and refuse any ties to the US until they change their whole system.

This is not really “hitting” back, it is more like a gentle poke back, and it is not even immediate, like 3b of it is going to happen all the way down in December.

What happened to all the talk about hitting back at big tech? Again, all talk no walk EU.

Everyone, except Orban voted for these tariffs. A majority in my country wants Hungary because of Orban to throw out of the EU. I am curiose how is the mood in other countries? Would be glad to hear.

This is in response to Trump’s earlier steel and aluminum tariffs, not Trump’s more recent 20% EU tariff.

“The package was proposed in response to Trump’s 25 percent tariff on steel and aluminum. The tariffs will be collected from April 15 and will also be 25 percent.”

      End all trade with them!
      No more relations with them.
Let’s pretend we never sailed west to go east.

US, the dildo of consequences rarely if ever arrives lubed!

Trump wants every country in the world to align their regs with those of the US as he sees these as non-tariff barriers.

    10. It’s ridiculous what they targeted, just to say ‘we hit back’. But targeting trucks, cigarettes and ice creams seems more of a joke than real tariffs. So far they didn’t target the big techs, which should be the real thing

“[EU] It was formed to do damage to the United State. That’s why it was formed.” This is a blatant lie to mislead anyone that doesnt know their history. The EU was formed like economic handcuffs to prevent France and Germany from going to war again.

    12. this isn’t the response for the blanket tariffs btw, it’s for earlier stuff

we’re still waiting to get a meeting with the penguins to figure those

20 billion dollars. Is it just me or does that sound stupid low?

Can’t wait for the Americans to “bring the jobs back” and have them working in factories inhaling glass powder, making tires, covered in all kinds of chemical shit with very little safety because that’s out the window. You guys are gonna be winning so much. The most winning.

“Well I ain’t gonna be doing this”

Nah b. You are going to be doing this. If your salary is under $100,000, you most likely will be making tires for the rest of the world. You will be doing labour. You will be winning like they did in the 1920s? Or whatever Trump said

Soo much winning. And when you’ll say “no. Stop. I can’t keep winning so much”. That’s when he’ll remove the minimum wage, and the 40-hour work week. And you’ll be happy on your $11/hr salary for 80-hr week, making plastic toys for kids in Europe.

I’m an American and I hope the whole world stands it’s ground against us. We are far to dangerous to be allowed to behave like this.

After 12 consultation meetings, 7 threats of countermeasures, 5 calls for negotiation to go back, 3 deadlines granted and some backtracking… Europe will act (maybe really)

    18. Consistent_Slices on

This is in response to his steel and aluminum tariffs. The response to the latest ones will come later

    19. Silver-Ad-3416 on

Even if Trump cuts tariffs, the EU must not cut tariffs. It must feel what it is doing, and there are consequences. Even though he is such an offended moron

    20. Wild take I LOVE living in over Bureaucratic society. Decisions are well discussed, you can weigh the pro and cons and everyone has time to adapt. Please EU never change your slow but steady pace ^^

Are there any stats on how much this has affected imports to US?
