This is a positive, natural progression as we cannot let Russia, China, NK, Iran think that there is no viable, coordination between EU/UK and countries east of China. Japan is already involved in one of the 6th generation fighter projects.

This may be announced as support of Ukraine, but I think it’s also to ensure European commitment to far east issues, due to reciprocal duties : Japan helps Europe, Europe helps Japan (when shtf in the far east).
We can finally fight on all fronts.
