He knew what he was doing going to the pub, taking coke and smoking weed. Nasty piece of shit.

This was a very upsetting article to read. There was a few lines about how the accused was probably going to have to move from the community as was being ostracized by the locals- he is probably aware of how little jail time he will get ,even with the list of factors not in his favor.
It’s hard to see how the new speed limits that got rolled out will make much of a difference when there are plenty of people like this driving about.

Wouldn’t surprise me to find he went there so he had a reason for what was found in his bloodstream. Could claim it wasn’t there when he was driving, happened afterwards.

I know that in situations like this there is often a desire for the victims to be able to get to the point of forgivenes, as if that will bring some sort of catharsis, but if I was the parent in this situation I don’t think I could ever find it in me.

Killing people is only a wee oopsie if you use a car to do it. He’ll get a three minute driving suspension and have to put a fiver into the trocaire box.

People have gotten so cynically shrewd / craven about what to do after an accident. And that seems to manifest if it’s a slight ding to full on murder.
