Corruption and lack of accountability are the only reasons in my opinion. Almost all economic opportunities are controlled by the government and their partners. You can create your own company, dominate a field but next morning some friend of “big guy” can come and get your hard-earned business here without any legal consequences. It’s a dystopia with fancy packaging basically.
I don’t believe this system is beneficial even for the government, this will collapse one day. But who knows when
