They’re literally teaching Erdogan the basics of political theory at this point. Regime actually believed the EU would accept them in exchange for military capabilities. That’s not some online HOI4 roleplay session lmao.
So they are suggesting to Canada, Australia and maybe Japan and South Korea that it’s very difficult but not impossible.

Very happy they did this. We need a functioning democracy first. CHP has pledged multiple times it will work at lighting speed to adopt the Copenhagen criteria and the EU should not budge or give into any of Turkey requests until we do.
Otherwise change will never happen

How I would laugh if Canada and Oz got into the EU. Both have gates at Buck house, both were founded (indeginous accepted) by the Brits, their head of state is the same as the UK, their laws are almost identical to UK’s. They both speak English as the main lingo (French accepted).

The EU’s silence had been concerning. This development is good news for Turkey, as it increases pressure on Erdgan and could accelerate calls for re-election and the end of his deeply flawed regime.

So you’re telling me that Canada or Armenia joining the EU isn’t completely out of the question? Sweet!

Oh Canadaaaa
Oh Canadaaaa
The European Parliament is simply reconfirming the [Copenhagen Criteria](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=LEGISSUM:accession_criteria_copenhague). Too bad that once you are a member you can do what ever you please, just look to Hungary.
Good news
