What does this mean? It means nations using the Euro (or nations which have a hard-peg to the Euro, like Bulgaria or Bosnia and Herzegovina) have higher purchasing power for imports. One Euro now gets you 11% more oil or gas than in the beginning of the year, which means it effectively becomes cheaper. If energy is cheaper, everything is cheaper.
The problem? It has the opposite effect on EU exports. Other countries need to pay 11% more for the same amount of EU exports. EU exports become less competitive and slow down.
The press keeps saying “paused”. To my knowledge, Donald just rolled back everything to 10%, plus the 25% steel/aluminium etc is still on?
Is that wrong, do we no longer have any extra tariffs (compared to 2024)?
I feel like I’m being gaslit at this point.

It’s time to end the reserve currency status of the dollar. The utterly unhinged and unreliable behaviour of the US administration is a threat to the world economy. It’s simply idiotic to continue to reward that with the “exorbitant privilege”.
Business needs stability and predictability, not this grotesque freak show. The Euro offers all that, especially because the ECB is TRULY independent and not at the mercy of any government, including the EU commission.
Who even knows how long the Fed is going to remain independent under these wannabe autocrats who are destroying everything that is good about the American system.
If all European union members adopt euro currency it will be stay ahead for choice against US dollar.
