We don’t take him seriously anymore.
Does he really think companies like Apple can build a production chain in the US in like 90 days? That takes years and years, if even feasible at all because it would result in much higher prices compared to making them in China and taking tariffs into consideration.
It’s cheaper for all the companies to build factories in EU.
We don’t tariff the entire supply chain.
They are not exempted. During the weekend they made clear that those tariffs will just be moved into a different category (232 i believe) which is ‘national security’.
P.S. That practically means they are almost untouchable in terms of negotiations and change.
