      Need to get the metro built. Hopefully the expansion of the DART in a few years will also help.

      Hahahah … 29 mins in Toronto is a miracle. It can take 90 mins in the evening to go 10km

      It’s very obvious this week in around the city & M50 how much congestion is caused by school traffic. With the schools off this week getting around has been so much easier. From the port to Ballymount would take me about 45 mins in normal midweek rush hour, last 2 mornings about 25 mins.

      going 10km through the city can easily take 2 hours on a bad day. 1 hour on a very good day

      We seriously believing Dublin is more congested than these Indian cities? Or Lagos?

      I missed a turn the other day in dublin a 5-10 walk was a 45min car trip just to go turn around.
      No parking anywhere

      Why is Galway not up there ? That city is insane for traffic. Over an hour just to get from knocknacarra to the motorway.

      And yet we protest every single pedestrianisation and easing of bus routes. There’s no amount of new roads that clear congestion there’s only encouraging more active travel. Even if your in a car you need to be cheering on every new cycle path and bus lane.

      Watched a video about congestion in Dublin 40 years ago and low and behold the very same road into town is just as bad everyday.

      Absolute failure by successive Governments to deliver adequate transport infrastructure right through very prosperous time.

      Dithering over the metro has to stop, just get it built. But there needs to be planning urgently for more metro lines. We can’t just have one line, there needs to be an orbital route just north and south of the liffey and an outer orbital metro too
