In Europe there is only one nuclear powered carrier, the French Charles de Gaulle. But that is quite old and its size is only a third of the US ones. . The French are planing a new one. A gas turbine or diesel powered carrier needs to be refilled in 10 day while a nuclear powered can sail for 25 years.
For power projection high capacity nuclear powered carriers are needed for the EU. Without a massive military the EU won’t be taken seriously in the world, the economic power is not enough.
We should apply appropriate see countermeasures as Ukrainians did.
