Yep. Do a taste test – the pipes in your house would probably be the only reason tap water wouldn’t taste good here. If it tastes neutral, it’s good.

Yes and no. The water that comes into your house is great. The pipes that are in your house might introduce off flavors and or pollutants.

Where I live (in NRW) the water is shit. Sometimes literally. Get boil water notices several times a year. Even when the water is “safe”, there’s a lot of calcium and it builds up on fixtures like crazy.

Yep. My company actually did tested the tap water, and I had a neighbour doing it in my building. Can’t remember the details, but there were zero issues.
Actually, AFAIK, the quality requirements for water are higher for tap water than for bottled water, or at least mineral water which is not allowed to be treated/purified to the same extent.

Interestingly enough, I have never thought of buying filters of water such as brita, but might start to as it is affordable aswell.The pipes are really something people need to be careful about because when u start paying rent and living in any place, u simply trust without knowing much about it.
