and now that the EU accepted the framing that fining companies for following domestic laws is “cheating”, we can expect this kind of meddling even more. losers

EU’s dealing with Trump is the second worst(UK’s is the worst).

We cannot lessen our food or privacy regulations.

I thought Europe believe in rule of law. So if the courts have already ruled, why is the fine put on hold?

After all, the Trump administration thinks so highly of Europe, it stands to reason that Europe will be patient with his tantrums.

EU puts its trade war it started on hold as the US finally starts fighting back.

Biden was obsessed with NATO and keeping the alliance strong, which was why he let Europe pick apart our tech companies without resistance.

Any other president democrat or Republican would have pushed back. Unfortunately for Europe, you get the president now who hates Europe, and will force capitulation one way or the other.

Fuck Trump, but I am glad that there is now a cost to Europe using our companies as piggy banks, trying to siphon off profits anywhere it can.

“We hate American tech companies they are so awful whaaa whaaa whaaa” he says as he sits on an American social media platform that he uses every day and can’t quit it because he secretly likes it.

This is a mistake. Don’t give him a centimeter.

Spineless fucks. Fascism is on the rise in the U.S., while Europe stumbles around in total incompetence. Slow, gutless, and weak—calling it “democracy” when it’s really just indecision and fear.

Old people clutching their pearls, too scared to upset the status quo, happy to stay dependent on imperialist powers like the U.S. and Russia so they can go back to their comfortable, lazy lives. And why not? It’s the next generation that pays the price.

    8. Leverage. Make Apple put pressure on Trump, he might actually react.

We can’t count on institutions to fight global fascism and oligarchy. We will have to form our own horizontal power bases.

Bend just a little further Europe. As always. Our leadership has no spine.

We must unite and be independent. In every aspect. Technology, environment, AI, food, energy. We must be a superpower.

We should in fact, in my view, do away with the concept of member states and become a fully functional federal nation. Heck my country isn’t independent anyways, what’s the difference between us being Portugal a member nation of the European Union and a member state of the Federal European Union? It’s just semantics.

    11. Not good. EU should be toughening its stance in particular on tech

EU is too eager to fine US techs because those companies are constantly under the spotlight and dealing with them gets politicians popularity.

Chinese techs have way worse monopoly practices and they have 0 regard for your privacy. They are not breaking Europeans laws because noone is investigating them.
