Just to add as the article fails to mention it. The DF has taken part in the EU Battlegroups for almost 20 years now. Its not something new.

Good to see more of this front and Center in media coverage – we’ve tried to keep this under wraps for too long – time to grow up and do our part ….

EU battle group, deploying to Africa. That sounds like a great idea. Like the lads we had down in Mali that trained the government forces that then committed atrocities against civilians. Which was the reason cited by the young fella that stabbed the chaplain.
Why does an economic union need to project it’s military power? And why would we want to be part of it?
