They are in for a big surprise once work life starts for them 😄 Bars usually move up in real life not down.

Can someone explain to me how this is not a dumbing down of the JC again? (GRMA)

Good. JC is a low stakes exam and should be marked as such. Last year when marking was very harsh was discouraging for a lot of students.

Ultimately, I wish they’d stop screwing with marking schemes and grade bands and bell curves and just mark exams in a fair and straightforward manner.

Love how the Dept can make changes at the click of their fingers and change plans at the last minute, or mid-course but schools expected to have multi-year plans in place for various aspects of school life.

The Dept were told repeatedly the band for merit was too broad and would discourage students from pushing themselves into higher merit grades. They don’t listen until someone who visited Harvard for a day or whatever, suggests it as “best practice”
