So are they saying RTÉ *shouldn’t* be covering it? Aren’t covering it *enough*? Covering it but not in the properly prescribed way as detailed by some random advocacy group?

I guess they miss having the Israeli embassy available.

Honestly I don’t really see much wrong with RTE. I’ve never watched their news and felt they were being soft on Israel at all. It’s quite performative.

    4. RTE is ran by spineless West Brits who would jump off a cliff if the BBC were doing it. It is viscerally painful for them to go against the native of other Anglo news outlets. Good on the protesters.

RTE get their information from the AP who are required to submit their content to the israeli military censor before it can be broadcast. So in turn there’s a lot of blame cast on Hamas ie. refusing to ceasefires. It’s skewed towards israel being the good guy almost of the time.

A lot of it is about language. RTE’s term for murderous raids slaughtering defenceless women, children and rescue workers: ‘military operation’. As Francesa Albanese put it rather kindly: come on guys, do better.
