I grandi profitti di Tesla aggiungono poco al tesoro olandese. Una fabbrica di auto apparentemente enorme ad Amsterdam si rivela un centro finanziario nell’impero globale di Tesla. Jan van de Streek, professore di diritto fiscale, ha indagato sui conti annuali di Tesla con “Segui i soldi”: “Probabilmente non scopriremo mai come funziona”

Behind the showroom, however, is a large office filled with Dutch tax experts who are focused on **creating tax advantages for the company**. Their endeavours are paying off: in the Netherlands, **Tesla pays around 100 million euros in tax on profits while its turnover is 26 billion euros**. An article in investigative journalism platform *Follow the Money* claims that Tesla has somehow secured a tax advantage with the Dutch tax authorities.

>‘We have to accept that we’ll probably never discover how that works,’ says Van de Streek in the article. ‘Company tax data **in the Netherlands is confidential**. If questions are asked in Parliament about what we’re seeing here, then I know what the answer will be: the Ministry of Finance will remain silent on account of the duty of tax confidentiality’.

Quite shameful

Netherlands as a country is a complete joke. They do stuff like this and still feel morally superior and shameless about speeches against southern europe.

Every country in the UE has to fix their own problems and policy contradictions for sure.

Let’s be honest here though: tax regulations in the netherlands and ireland have been a bane on European intergration. You should not be asking for budgetary restraint when the bedrock of your tax policy consists in favoring base erosion and profit shifting all across the EU.

This is a major roadblock in the journey towards a true economic union.
