I claim the opposite is the case. Hungarians have the choice if they want to be sold out to Moscow by corrupt oligarchs or not.

He was and is always free to leave or to see if his people actually want to leave but he himself loves Brussels money too much I guess.

I do know a guy here in Hungary who told me that he hates Orbán, but will still vote for him, because “Hungarians are unruly rats and not civilized enough for democracy” and without a strong leader like Orbán, the country will collapse into something out of Mad Max and under Orbán at least we have law and order.
Orbán himself said something similar back around 2013-2014, when he said “Democracy won’t work for a half-Asian horde like Hungarians.”
Putin’s pet project and agent in the European Union – Orban and his pet project FIDESZ (leading party of Hungary) is panicking as every independend polling media measuring them already loosing the next year’s election…

In his latest public gather (for a handful of people, mind you) he stated that:
– If they (as in Orbán & Co.) see that it is better off for Hungary to “be outside” rather than “inside” then we have to leave the EU.
– He jokingly told Trump once, since they are so close they always chat, when Trump told him “Why don’t you just leave the EU?” he answered “Mr. President! For that we need a good offer!”
Sovereignty goes wroom!

I believe one of the prerequisites to have a independent state is to make sure one’s head of state isn’t manipulated by Kremlin.
What a load of old tripe. Hungarians are from the same ‘background’ as the Finns…. They are doing just fine without Orban. In fact anyone who tells people if they are not elected leader everything will fall apart should immediately be called out for trying to scare people.
This just in: Corrupt politicians are trying to avoid going to jail.
The exact same thing was said by PiS in Poland. The chief nutjob of the party, Macierewicz, claimed we would be assimilated into Germany in 6 months. We’re still here.
If he loses the elections, an unimprisoned Orbán will cease to exist.
