They can fuck off to the US if they love Trump so much. We don’t need his divisive cult shite here.

“Irish Lives Matter” in Ireland where being white and Irish puts you in the majority.

Are these people capable of embarrassment?

This sub is weird. You can complain about the government’s handling of immigration all day long but the moment people actually protest what we agree is a problem, all of a sudden they’ve gone too far. Doesn’t matter that they got the IFP to pull out, in a crowd of thousands there’ll always be something to smear the lot with.

I saw teenagers from the “Revolutionary Communists of Ireland” standing alongside Sinn Féin, Labour and the NGOs at the counter-protest. I genuinely didn’t think these people existed outside of Reddit.

I don’t agree with either side of this protest. There doesn’t seem to be anyone representing the normal people on either side of the argument.

The racists might actually be on the majority side of this argument but they drive people away by being so bad.

Like it or not more and more of the public are agreeing with some of their sentiments and talking points.

There is just too much non-EU immigration and small communities are being upheaved. For example, what politician thinks it’s a good idea to put an ipas centre that holds 400 or so in a community where the population of the area is around 1500.

The government and the NGOs lobbying them only have themselves to blame for letting the situation get out of hand. If they took some steps to deal with the issues around public services, screening, security and other public concerns years ago anti-immigration movement wouldn’t have near as much support as it currently does.

Large protests like these are troublesome for those with an opposing point of view. Many people are being silent in their criticisms of immigration and to a certain extent self censoring, however as more and more people start speaking out and making noise they might just join them.

The open borders crowd have gone too far too fast and this will cost them in the long run.

Rté, if your lead has “thousands” in it maybe picture them, not the gardaí SUVs?

Fascism is growing in the world and the so called leaders are to blame.

Honestly, if there was a party that were serious about INCREASING Irish intensity (getting more involved in trad music, Irish language, and more) – that’d be cool. I’d support that.

But this pro ireland isn’t “pro Ireland” – it’s just anti foreign stuff. And I love foreign stuff. I love everything. But I’m OK to love Irish more and a cultural movement about getting myself involved in more Irish stuff

They all seemed to leave very early defected

Great job from the Gardaí today

      Appeared to be zero issues

I mean, easy to dismiss and label these people as racist.(not that I disagree) But there’s a reason these protests and number of people feeling discontent with the current system are growing, and our government either don’t have a way of stopping it, or aren’t interested in stopping it.
