175 missiles to be precise which makes the maths easy – £10,000,000 a round. Its great that the Dutch are tooling up (this is triple the UK stocks of Tomahawk) but holy hell that’s expensive – the Russians Kh-101 cruise missiles is supposedly closer to $1million for the same role.

I don’t know much about military spending, but it feels pretty wild that a country like the Netherlands is making such a big purchase. I remember when I was in Europe a few years ago, and the whole defense spending thing came up in a conversation with a local. They were really passionate about how important it is to stay secure, but also how much pressure there is to balance defense and social programs. It got me thinking about the real cost of national security beyond just the price tags on weapons. It’s crazy how these decisions can have such far-reaching effects on people’s daily lives without us even noticing.

So much for an American boycott – gotta have those Freedom Missiles 😭

      Is there no European alternative?

If you use those missiles against Russia, they probably won’t work.

If you have to use them against America, they definitely won’t work!

Oh noo. Dick Schoof did mess up big time. I am a dutchman and I don‘t the tax money I don‘t contribute to (since I live abroad) to flow to the USA!

Do they have any guarantee that those missiles will even fire in case of emergency without need to approval from US?

Typically Dutch to go against what´s in Europe´s interests.

    9. Will NL be able to shoot anytime at any target or will they need approval beforehand?
