AKP Chairperson and President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said, “Let’s look how many more CHP members will be perished for the presidential desire”.

Erdoğan made statements at his party’s group meeting. In most of his remarks, he targeted the main opposition party CHP and its Chairperson Özgür Özel, accusing the CHP leader of declaring as democratic heroes the “bribe-takers, shameless ones, and frauds” who have wrapped around his party like an octopus.

“And now, in this miserable state, he has started pursuing the presidency. The one before him had knocked on every door, but the result is clear—he was about to become the president, has now become history. Now, no one is knocking on his door. Will he have the stamina to last until 2028? We’ll watch and see. Let’s see how many more CHP members will be perished for the presidential desire. The charity of our services surpass what they’ve done tenfold, a hundredfold, a thousandfold. Let him first rise to the political level of our neighborhood representative, then we might lend an ear to what he’s saying. Until he admits his mistakes, we condemn this individual to be distracted by the internal power games within his own party. If you can’t explain it, you turn it into a joke. Turns out, they’ve become tape recorders. We have no complaints about a CHP that is sinking deeper as our political rival. A CHP leader who is constantly being corrected and proven false works in our favor. We feel sorry for the citizens who are pinning their hopes on the CHP.”

At this point, the biggest responsibility falls on you, our brothers and sisters at every level of the AK Party. We are marathon runners. I ask you to align your voice, your work, and everything you do accordingly. I want you to make people feel the AK Party’s wind every day of the year, every hour of the day. Even if we are fighting on many fronts, we have the strength and will to overcome them all. Representing the AK Party, one of the world’s largest grassroots parties with 11.5 million members, means bearing this responsibility. We see this as a badge of honor.”
