Disgusting extortion. Hopefully Ukraine reneges on this deal ASAP

They need to change the title to “Exploitation Deal”

It’s like finding someone raping a person and offering to save them if they have sex with you.

Huge loss for the EU. Seems like Europe is losing on multiple fronts several times per year.
It feels like EU is being strangled from all side right now. There are hardly any moves made by the EU to prevent this. The military production increase is great to see but it’s not clear if it will even last.

It’s not like Ukraine was going to utilize those resources anyway. They’ve been banking on these reserves since the Cold War. We Europeans should have supported Ukraine more so that they wouldn’t have to sell themselves out

Silver linings, this deal is worthless if Ukraine loses. Also much of the resources are on land currently occupied by Russians.

This is big mistake by Ukraine. This will seriously enable corruption in that country.

“no state or person who financed or supplied the Russian war machine will be allowed to benefit from the reconstruction of Ukraine”
so basically every European country who buys Russian energy
“The draft of the deal appeared to give the US sweeping access to Ukrainian industries beyond minerals.”
It’ll be interesting to parse as more details come out.

Spoiler: The Golden Child has done a deal with The Kremlin Gremlin to do the extraction.
Meanwhile, the fat turd sits there with his Big Mac eating grin thinking he’s some kind of genius.
I really wouldn’t be surprised if this is the first Zelensky has heard.
Who gives a bully what he wants?

At least we will have the privilege to rebuild their entire country and economy without anything in return Morally we’re superior!

If Trump doesn’t go back on it, or mess it up.
I’m happy for Ukrainians. If it means the end to the war, I’m sure plenty will be very relieved to hear this.
Still lots of ifs, and a lack of Trust towards Trump from me. But I’m not as bitter as some other posters seem to be.
Europe could have helped Ukraine more, if you feel like Ukraine got bullied into this, where were you? How did they get bullied, with friends like you?

First the arms dealer get rich and when it’s rebuilding time, everyone get a slice. Winning all day long America.

It’s good that they reached an agreement. It’s good that the previous aid won’t be considered debt. It’s good that it won’t hinder European integration.
I hope that aid to Ukraine will now be resumed.

Trump just desperately needs (what he thinks is) a win right now.
However if you research credible sources in the scientific community there is little evidence that Ukraine has much in rare earth mineral reserves other than speculation. In fact there is nothing much there that can’t be obtained in greater quantities and quality elsewhere on Earth.
They do have fantastic farm land for grains that feed much of Europe though.

I’m trying to understand how this plan works.
So the US and Ukraine put money into a reconstruction fund that is used to rebuild Ukraine and the minerals that is mined from Ukraine then gets paid out 50/50 to Ukraine and the US?

Unfortunately because of the paywall , I can only speculate on how much of a shakedown Ukraine is facing from Orange

More FU to Canada and China with this deal, since those 2 countries were the main supplier of these to the US but have since been the main targets of trumps tariffs. I hope it truly does stop the war in Ukraine like it’s been touted though

The BBC article(https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/c5ypw7pn9q3o) has a few more details and a potentially problematic statement:
