Entrambi questi vini provengono dal sud-ovest (Mykolaiv, Obesa Oblasts). So che la vicina Moldavia è famosa per i suoi vini, quindi il terreno è migliore in quelle regioni dell’Ucraina per la viticoltura?

      Yes, it’s quite popular.

These two bottles are from the decent “mainstream” wineries which are not too expensive and are enjoyable to drink.

Ukraine also makes an orange wine that’s supposed to be pretty good. But I can’t find it where I live.

Those are the cheaper brands, but maybe this more expensive “select” line is better. Another cheap brand from the same region “Shabo” is pretty good for the price if you buy their more expensive line.

“Kolonist” winery from that region is pretty good.

Also Saperavi is a Georgian grape sort, so you’re meeting 2 cultures with a single bottle.
Moldova is all about sweet and semi sweet wines, and it feels like it’s popularity peaked about 20 years ago

Yes those are decent – I like the koblevo whenever I try it.

Side note: Does anyone know the name of the that dark herbal liqueur? I drank it often in l’viv and Ivano many years ago.

Bolgrad and Koblevo in Ukraine is like Jameson and Red Label in the whiskey world

It’s popular and you can find it anywhere, it’s affordable for most of consumers but it’s not something special or exclusive

It’s not BAD, nothing like that
It’s like if you wan’t to learn, to taste – there are alternatives for more money

I personally grieve Trubetskoy Winery in Kherson oblast. Was robbed and vandalised while being under russian occupation. Great wines, wide choice, beautiful place and history. Was, sadly.
