      This sign shows that there is a gas line in the area. The numbers show where it is. I think “KH” means that there is some kind of shut off valve at the position which the numbers indicate.

      If you look around your city, you will also find blue signs, which show a main water line (or the fixture where the water line can be shut off if there is a big leak somewhere nearby), and white signs with a red border strip, which show the position of a water hydrant (for firefighters etc.) in regard to the sign.
