They’re a nice change of pace in the winter months.

That’s the funniest headline I’ve heard in a while.

    3. I love having a sauna at home. Just a great way to relax on a Sunday before work, or any sniff of a cold or any knot in your back, into the sauna for a few rounds of heat/cold plunge in the shower.

The beach saunas/gym saunas here don’t get remotely hot enough – they’re normally set to 60 ish. Our one goes up to the Swedish/Finnish 85/90c and it’s the zone where you get the benefits from the heat.

I wonder would they have been used for food preservation. Smoking and what not.

Tigh’N Alluis is a really cool spot. It’s in the middle of the GAP MTB park and the last time I was biking there I was ripping down a trail about 5m away from an outdoor yoga class.

There’s a sauna at Old Head Beach Co Mayo. It’s amazing after a dip in the sea

The lack of a ‘third space’ comes up a lot on the sub here, usually in the context of pubs and clubs closing but these provide a great alternative for shared activity and I normally feel great after a sauna session and a dip in the sea or cold pool.

I don’t get the necessity for cynicism and negativity on this sub over anything popular.
