After a disastrous first quarter, Tesla’s sales figures in Europe tanked even further in April.
Tesla sales in several European countries plummeted by over 50% in April.
The poor performance comes after a first quarter in the red and a disappointing full year in 2024.
Tesla sales went down an astonishing 81% in Sweden—the lowest level since October 2022. In the Netherlands, Tesla sales decreased 73.8% compared to the same month last year. It’s the same story in Denmark and France, where the American automaker’s numbers fell by 67% and 59% respectively. In Portugal, the fall wasn’t as abrupt, but at 33%, it’s still nothing to write home about.

Tesla – Machina Non Grata
As I wrote a few days back, the brand is dead. Nobody wants to support a Nazi sympathiser and the few that actually do want to (or don’t care) are wary of their vehicles becoming a target of vandalism.

I wonder how it is in Czechia. I see some Teslas and don’t thinks people fuck with the cars here but sales can’t be that big b/c it isn’t a wealthy nation.

Not that it isn’t extremely overvalued and nobody wants to be seen in a Tesla…
But if they release a good enough product, Musk doing something some major Mars thing and leaving Trump ties at least visibly for a year or longer… I could see that as an end of this spiral.
People have short term memory.

Central Europe: A lot of owners aren’t helping with the image, either. Just saw a Tesla parked diagonally across two handicapped spots…

100% on Musk.
He’s taken two worldwide brands that were at the level of Coke, Band-Aids, and Aspirin – one synonymous with social media, the other with electric cars, and destroyed their value all in a remarkably short time.

If you buy a Tesla from now on, I will be severely judging your moral compass
Tesla is still having the top #1 and #2 best selling EV-Models and is still the #2 best selling EV-Brand overall in Q1/2025 in europe.
Tesla is doing worse than last year but is still far from dead. If they keep reyling on their old lineup (S3XY) though it’s only to a matter of time. We need some cheap EVs with some range.

Oh no…How very awful.
Anyway, I had a ham sandwich for lunch with cheese today. It’s nice to have something simple to start the week. What did everyone else have?
