“The deal does not include any change in immigration policy, including towards Indian students studying in the UK”

      British government said.

      Great, did not expect that.

      >Once it comes into force, which could take up to a year, UK consumers were likely to benefit from the reduction in tariffs on goods coming into the country from India, the Department for Business said.
      >
      >As well as clothing, that will include some Indian foodstuffs, such as frozen prawns.
      >
      >The government also emphasised the benefit to economic growth and job creation from UK firms expanding exports to India.
      >
      >Gin and whisky tariffs will be halved to 75%, with further reductions taking effect in later years.
      >
      >Import taxes on cars will fall to 10% as will levies on aerospace, electricals and some UK food products.

TLDR: It’s the opposite of what the MAGA cult does 😀

Seen a few weird replies already about the UK, i think some people forget on every metric the UK is probably the 4th most powerful country in the world in terms of Economy, Military, Culture, Soft power etc. We are more than capable of standing on our own despite some grand illusion that post brexit we would cease to exist as a nation.

UK shd support India against terrorist Pakistan, why UK still supports them? India is the 2nd largest fdi investor in UK and is the 3rd largest gdp by ppp and is a growing economy and one of the largest markets in the world, UK will benefit more from India than those terrorists

Bunch of weird pissing contest comments under here from some Brits and some mainlanders.

To be clear, we’re all on the same side here. The side being: Europeans who don’t want Russia, the US or China to control our economies or laws.

Great news, now time to get the EU-India agreement signed off as well.

Great. Millions more Indian peasants stealing a living without contributing.

      >As part of the agreement, the UK and India will strike a double contribution convention under which Indian workers temporarily living in the UK will not have to pay national insurance contributions for three years. The same applies to British workers in India, and meets a key demand by Delhi.

Employ an Indian or a Brit? Employ a Brit you have to pay national insurance.

Again, Starmer sells out the UK

This looks like an excellent deal for consumers and industry in both countries. Well done !

So Trump is indeed a deal maker. Just not for the US. Thanks MAGA, I guess?
