82% is still pretty high, I think people forget the EU was a driving factor behind Irelands rapid modernisation.

I’ve ex friends and family gone down the rabbit holes on social media etc. but not one of them is anti EU surprisingly? Or at least vocally so.

Most people are defo pro EU as the survey still points out. Immigration is an issue for ppl whether we like it or not and the EU framework for it and I would think the increased military spend may turn some ppl off EU support. Obviously the EU needs to spend more on that to protect the likes of Poland etc but for us Irish maybe not everyone accepts that we have to contribute also etc

As much as it is fallen by there is still considerable majority support for EU membership. But people need to get real EU is not exactly a force for good on the world stage, this will become more evident in the coming years as the EU commission takes greater control over national militaries.

For better or worse, we are totally tied to the European Union economically, that will keep people in line.

There are lots of other countries in the European Union whose continued membership is being questioned by larger segments of their populations i.e. Greece, Hungary, France.
