    1. What kind of BS is that? US desperately trying to stay relevant in European politics?

Königsberger Klopse are tasty, a fully Russophied region after a century of indoctrination not so much…

    3. PainInTheRhine on

And then what? Extraterritorial corridor from Germany to Kaliningrad?

    4. Bartimaevs on

Paying for the privilege of another million Россия No.1 voters.

    5. VibrantGypsyDildo on

Lol. Because there was no ethnic cleansing in USSR?

Kaliningrad is Russian now. It would be nice for them to fight for the membership in EU if they choose to.

This is just the US trying to normalise the notion of selling bits of territory, so that they can demand Greenland, etc. and claim that Europe has already accepted that it’s possible.

I have heard this one, oh, yeah, in Dugins’ 1997 book, “how to sway Germany towards Russia’s side” part.

I haven’t read the whole text piece, but from what I did read, the remaining bits probably contain the phrase “I know what you’re thinking, but hear me out…” at some point.
The author must have been eating some Hash Königsberger Klopse.

      We don’t want it.

We did not want it 1990, we don’t want it 2025.

There is nothing German left there. Outside of the Amber Room maybe.

We don’t want it, would just sour relations with Poland. Give it to them or Lithuania. The stability of Europe depends on a mutual understanding that everyone is generally content with borders being the way they are, Russia just wants to get us hooked on fantasies of expansion that will then lead to more trouble. Fuck them, fuck Trump, and especially fuck Putin.

    11. NickVanDoom on

nah, with all the russians population in it? with poland still wanting reparations from germany? this oblast securing an ice free baltic port? creating forever a strategic breaking point at the sulwaki gap? never ever will russia give this away…

Quoting Dugin and making up stuff like this, is certainly not a very convincing method.

    13. reddebian on

ruZZia can keep that. We don’t want that nor it’s citizens

    14. bindermichi on

I mean the reason nobody wanted to take it back in the last 80 years (and that was on the table multiple times) is primarily that Russia replace the population with resettled Russians.

So why would anyone now buy a strip of land populated with Russians?

    15. Nobody in Germany even cares, this is not even being discussed at all and wasn’t discussed ever. It’s completely out of the question. Nobody here wants anything to do with this discussion, it’s completely fabricated externally.

    16. Let’s just assume for a second that such a deal would make sense and would be something both countries want: why the hell would Germany and russia need the US for this?

    17. RedBaret on

If they hadn’t made a nice, cultural and historic European town into a dystopian brutalist shithole it would be worth considering.

    18. No_Conversation_9325 on

Does Germany even want this many AfD supporters?

    19. marmolada213 on

Breaking: Germany wont pay anything. Nobody in the right mind would pay to get a tonne of Russians as citizens. If you want Germany to annex Kalinigrad you would to pay them. A lot.

    20. Can we just send all nazis there and give them their own fascist island, like a rightwing-prison?
