And our foreign minister says that this is just “ukrainian provocation”

Flat out from the kremlin approved dialogue choices …

There is no news yet, but it would make sense that the pro western opposition will call the people for major protest as weekend is here and the news are fresh.

    2. Brisbanoch30k on

Well THAT might be a good case for ejecting Orban’s Hungary from the EU

    3. Face_lesss on

With the current state of press in the country i bet 10k that Orban will come up with some stupid shit in hours, the news will get flooded with it and not a single outlet will say a word about this.

    4. ArugulaElectronic478 on

Alright time to kick them out of EU and NATO.

      Sanction time baby!

    5. At what point as countries like Poland and France are just going to say enough is enough, Hungary has done more damage to European security and the reputation of the EU than anyone else but Russia.

It’s embarrassing and is putting us all at risk. The EU needs to get on top of this quickly.

    6. Travel-Barry on

Omg if Putin uses _fucking Hungary_ as his Casus Belli I’m going to fucking rage as I applaud him

    7. The EU and NATO actually need to start doing something about Hungary. This here is too direct, it’s too big of a deal. I sincerely hope it won’t be ignored; Hungary needs to be blocked and contained.

    8. putlersux on

The theory is that Putler promised the Trans Carpathian region to Orban for support. I also want to point out that Orban is forming a strong relationship with Dodik and Vucic and it’s a threat to the Balcan’s security

    9. yall before you get to the “lets kick hungary out” part, make sure to consider:
      – the opposition right now has 20% above the regime
      – elections are 2026
      – a fresh voice memo revealed hungary prepping for warpath 1 day earlier while publicly advertising as a peacekeeper

this is what needs to happen for the elections to go well and get rid of OV and his mobsters, so instead of hammering on hungary and tryna kick us out, talk shit about Orban and Kremlin, make sure this stays a topic and trust that the votes come in.

this is the first and only chance hungarians have to rid the country of those bastards, but without EU backing all is lost, the one thing all hungarians agree on is to stay within the EU, despite all the propaganda, so it has a decent chance of going well.

just blame it all on our supreme scumbag and don’t shit on the people watching exclusively propaganda for the last 16 years, we have no tv channels, newspapers that are not govt-owned and the only 2-3 online newspapers had to headquarter outside hungary to avoid retaliation.

    10. Important context: Yesterday Péter Magyar, the challenger of Orbán have leaked a recording from 2023:

      > in the recording the defense minister stated that in accordance with the Hungarian government’s decision, we are breaking with our previous mentality of peace and are entering “phase zero of the path to war”.

      Source: https://telex.hu/english/2025/05/08/hungarian-minister-of-defense-talks-about-breaking-with-past-policy-of-peace-in-recording-released-by-peter-magyar

Second piece of important context: Zakarpattia hundred plus years ago belonged to Hungary and to this day there’s a Hungarian minority there.

There’s a historical comment to be made as well: Pál Teleki committed suicide on Apr 3, 1941 when Hungary attacked Yugoslavia. His suicide note had this:

      > A gazemberek oldalára álltunk – mert a mondvacsinált atrocitásokból egy szó sem igaz! Sem a magyarok ellen, de még a németek ellen sem! Hullarablók leszünk! a legpocsékabb nemzet.

      > We have taken the side of the villains — not a single word of these fabricated atrocities is true. Not against Hungarians not even against the Germans! We are becoming robbers of the dead! The scummiest nation.

      NEWSWEEK…

Dear lord, the “NATO’s” is totally irrelevant, Hungary spied on Ukraine and it has absolutely nothing to do with NATO.

    12. EvilMonkeySlayer on

Looks like the Hungarian deniels are lies, since they wouldn’t need to [expel some Ukrainian diplomats they accuse of being spies.](https://bsky.app/profile/maks23.bsky.social/post/3loqhbghcss2q)

You don’t need to respond by expelling some people at an embassy unless you got caught red handed.

In essence this is Hungary admitting Ukraine caught a couple of Hungarian spies.

    13. Monsieurfrank on

NATO’s Hungary…why that title? They are accused to be Hungarian intelligence officers.

    14. Calm down! In a year there will be elections and the current government will either go to jail or flee to Moscow.

    15. icanswimforever on

If Orban keeps power in the next elections, then it’s time for Hungary to go. The world is getting too dangerous to keep enemies that close.
