      >the single biggest departure from what the commission recommended is that it will have no legislative power – and it is clear this was important to the commission.

      >Another outlier is the Minister’s commitment to establish two new groups under the HOA – the Housing Activation Delivery Group and the Housing Activation Industry Group.

      >While the Minister says “these aren’t committees for the sake of it”, it is unclear what their role is, and neither were recommended in the commission’s report.

Cant give it legislative power, then the government might have to listen to it.

There is no end to the creativity that will be engaged in all to avoid having to actually do anything that might make progress in dealing with the enormous housing crisis that this Government and its predecessors have fomented. They will do anything, literally anything, other than grasp the nettle and actually directly build houses.

I know for some the constant complaints about housing may seem irritating etc. but even if you own your own home, and are even doing pretty well given the continuous rise in house prices, you have got to understand the damage this is doing to society. If it is not impacting you today, be sure that it will do so before too long.

      There’s no reason it should.

It’s basically meant to be a link between all relevant offices, departments and providers. It could work really well if people put aside ego and work together.

The main effort that will be taken to tackle the housing crisis for this term in government, will be to make lofty sounding agencies and official titles that pay extremely well while having no power, while doing completely Fuck. All. about the actual housing crisis itself.

Sshuhhh…that’s the intent. It’s designed to have ‘the look’ of doing something only. Mandarins in charge woefully inadequate or malign, it’s one or the other..

It’s so that the minister for housing can try and blame someone else.

Putting a halt to all the selfish planning objections would be a start
