Oggi sono andato all’Ue Open House a Washington DC e ho visitato l’ambasciata della Danimarca. Avevo questo fantastico hot dog che era diverso da quello che abbia mai avuto prima. Era lungo e scattante. Mi chiedevo se qualcuno sapeva dove avrei potuto ottenere un pacchetto di questi hot dog in modo da poter provare a farli a casa.

Get some from the brand called “steff houlberg” it’s the brand a lot of the hot dog stands here use.
I doubt you can find them in stores in the US, but it might be a “langelænder” sausage, you could write the Embassy and see if they wanna give out their secret 🙂
Dane here that used to live in the US for 8 years. If you have an Aldi, Lidl or Trader Joe’s in your area, check those stores out. Otherwise check online. There are some butcheries that make Danish style meats in the US and some of them offer shipping.
Just the sausage? Those are Vienna sausages (not the canned ones), cook em on medium heat until you loose patience, to render out the fat and get the skin slightly crispy.
I’ve lived in the US for 20+ years, and I’ve never encountered anything that comes close to a Danish hot dog.
