Ho ottenuto un set di pizza da Rewe ieri e all’apertura ha trovato l’obiettivo del cerchio sulla copertura di plastica dell’impasto come nell’immagine allegata. Solo curioso di sapere cosa è e l’uso di esso!

it’s an airlock. let’s out CO2 the yeast in the dough produces but doesn’t let on air from outside. so the dough stays fresh without blowing up the plastic wrap (:
I guess it was fresh pizza dough? The yeast produces CO2 and this is an outlet for it, so that the package won´t explode.
Dough with yeast, yeast eats sugar in the dough, poops out CO2, CO2 expands plastic packaging, plastic packaging bursts.
To prevent the last two points from happening, there is a valve in the packaging that allows the CO2 to escape through the film.
