The unfortunate bit is that the US itself has picked Putin. It might be a bit more useful if they’d pick the EU rather than a toss up between Putin and Putin’s bagman in Washington.
No Putain or EU. America.
But this is not interference. It is advice from ‘America’s friend’.

Is that a joke? One of signatories is Adrian Zuckerman, ex-ambassador to Romania appointed by Trump. Same Trump who said that he would encourage Russia to attack Europe. Did this guy even read the letter ?
The choice is between Europe and the Russo-american alliance, not between Putin and America.
Not sure this helps, currently the difference is negligible.
Ironically Simion, the far-right candidate, is a self declared MAGA fan and declares himself as “pro-American”, recently paying $1.5M to lobby companies in the US. Even the (ex) ambassador nominated by Trump is not supporting him.
Simion is also campaigning for Nawrocki in Poland, Trump supposedly endorsing Nawrocki in the Polish elections.

Well, America has obviously picked Putin, so Romanians historic choice is more like “Putin -or America, which is Putin’s puppet.”
And of course America is against Putin?
America and Putin? They are the same picture. Putin’s candidate in Romania also finds Trump great.
That’s…confusing.
Putin or America? Same difference.
This just goes to show how weird the struggle is in America right now. The old establishment types that used to dominate American politics doesn’t quite understand that their rule has ended. They still believe that just getting rid of Trump will bring everything back to the way it used to be, which is evident in them even trying to write these letters.
Ignore these people, their power in America is gone, and we aren’t going back.

The US and Putin are on the same side. Romania’s choice is dictatorship or the EU.
It’s really Europe or Putin, America has nothing to do with this, the rusian candidate is a Trump fan 🙂
