Western media are gradually shifting the narrative on Ukraine, from expectations of victory to justifying the reasons for its defeat.

What an incredible hack. Britain supported Ukraine as much as it could. Sucking up to Trump in this way is so pathetic and detrimental to Ukraine

Lol and what do we have now, BoJo? What now when the Americans are the surrender monkeys?

Is he trying to get a seat on the Trumplane?

If he sticks his tongue up the Golden Child’s back door lock keyhole any more, he’ll be renamed polish Johnson, and given a stipend and used as a bidet.

A little late to talk about it now. Why didnt BoJo the russian asset speak his mind at the moment this was happing?

    6. that s one way to put it

the other one is that they felt so hot they could bleed russia out for a decade they forgot to check their twitter followers

Still waiting for those “bone crushing sanctions.” It does seem like we’ll be getting a new sanctions package soon, whether or not its bone crushing remains to be seen.

    8. Boris Johnson is genuinely one of the least principled politicians I’ve ever seen. He doesn’t seem to believe anything.

Being bullish on Ukraine was his one singular positive legacy and he seems determined to trash it to get right wing attention.

    9. As an American who learned by about age 6 that Russia was the bad guy and that we are supposed to support our allies, I cannot believe how much worse off our world is because of the selfishness, stupidity, and arrogance of a bunch of redneck voters in flyover states. I’m sincerely sorry.

People here seem rather clueless about what he is doing.

This is a message intended exclusively for Trump with the intention of goading him into giving Ukraine more support.

When a terrible person makes a good point.

We have to admit now that Biden and the ‘escalation ladder’ were terrible for Ukraine. Russia has backed down from every one of their absurd red lines.

If more had been given, and sooner then Ukraine might have had the ability to rout Russia from the field before the stalemate set in. At the very least they would be in a far stronger position now.

Biden didn’t want Ukraine to lose, but he didn’t really want them to win either, and was willing to spend Ukrainian lives and territory to maintain his desired balance of power.

European safety and security requires Ukrainian victory. Myopic and self centered American foreign policy, whether it originated from Biden or Trump runs counter to that aim.

Johnson also tried to claim some weeks ago that Trump’s calling Zelensky a dictator was ‘obviously just rhetoric’ and the real problem here was not Washington, but Brussels, for not seizing Russian finances.

He’s irrelevant and he knows it. Now he just says paradoxical crap to get clicks, or to reinforce his own stupid convictions of the EU being the root of all the world’s problems. Nobody should pay attention to the old gran-killing bastard.

Probably an unpopular opinion but he’s not wrong. Joe Biden and Jake Sullivan were trying their hardest to not let Ukraine win. Their objective was containing Russia without defeating it. And of course that backfired.

    14. LargeSand on

Well yeah of course Joe Biden would do such thing… have people already forgotten what happened in the last decades when the US decided to go full throtle meddling on foreign affair in a countries that are on wars?!

And they’re still trying to pick up the pieces by trying to fix all the bad policies done from many previous administrations. Hence why he is being careful. Why do you think the tragedy of 9/11 happened?!

This isn’t about lacking “balls.” It’s about trying not to repeat the same reckless mistakes over and over.

I say this with pretty much 90% of the UK population behind me. Fuck off Boris

    16. SweetAlyssumm on

What does “under Joe Biden” mean? The UK is its own sovereign nation, they could have been “fully backing” Ukraine if they wanted to. The US has recently done a lot of stupid shit, like electing Trump, but we cannot be blamed for everything and I’m pretty sick of it. (Boris, by the way, looks like a cut rate Trump, and Trump’s looks are already a disaster.)

Everything before “says Boris Johnson” is the most execrable sort of bullshit you can imagine.
