I’m not familiar with internal Hungarian politics, so I don’t know how stable Orban’s rule currently is. I assume his popularity is on the floor but that doesn’t matter since elections aren’t fair.
But from what’s happening in Turkey, this feels like Orban trying to push all the buttons to somehow cling on to power, sensing that his end it near. It’s what’s happening with Erdoğan. Obviously it won’t happen overnight, but eventually.
Again, this is just me extrapolating from Turkey’s situation. I might be completely wrong about Hungary. Correct me if I am.

And Germany, Netherlands, Sweden and others EU contributors will keep throwing endless money on Orban. Zero asertivity, zero care. EU money at this point are corruption and democracy destruction disaster.
Democratic countries could oppress the right based on the paradox of tolerance. Its obviously stupid to have authoritarian political parties exploiting democracy.
EU ought to have cut funding to Hungary and Slovakia and suspended their votes solely on their support of Putin alone.

They have a youtube channel called Patrióta and their recent videos are more and more shocking. They seriously consider leaving the EU. I won’t be suprised if the 2026 will be the last one.
And blame Ukraine in the meantime
