Birmingham, Brighton, London and Manchester Pride have all done the same.
Pride organisations essentially saying “fuck hypocrisy” is a pretty good thing I would say, but there are probably people who’ll pearl-clutch over people’s right to be hypocrites or some nonsense.
Good. If our political class are happy to backslide on LGBT+ rights in this country, they shouldn’t have the right to go to Pride events for photo ops.
Does it apply to all parties?
Completely fair decision, but if someone set up an “LGBT party” that specifically campaigned on issues affecting the LGBT community, would they also be banned?
Hope Edinburgh follows suit! It’d suck if we got inundated with political parties looking to pinkwash
