She began a thirst strike and sent a message from prison, quoting the famous WWII hero Rade KonĨar: “I do not seek mercy, nor would I give it to you.”

Thirst strikes are extremely dangerous and can last only a few days before a person dies.

She and a group of activists were imprisoned a few days before the massive student-led anti-corruption protests in Belgrade on March 15, and they have not had a trial to this day.

I was 50 days without being charged or trial when I was arrested last year..
I also refused to eat anything, but not as a form of protest or anything,I just wasn’t interested in eating anything..

When I was ultimately asked why I wasn’t eating anything, my reply sorta shook them..

“Me not eating shouldn’t be worrying you, if I don’t drink anything, then you should be concerned”
