The European Long-Range Strike Approach (ELSA) missile project, involving France, Germany, Italy, Poland, Sweden, and the UK, is in early development to create a conventional ground-launched cruise missile with a 1,000-2,000 km range.
Lead contractors for the project’s development pillars are expected to be announced in June 2025, with France anticipated to play a key role in ballistics.
Separately, the UK and Germany announced a joint effort to develop a long-range precision strike weapon exceeding 2,000 km called the Deep Precision Strike Capability (DPSC) indicating a broader European push for enhanced strike capabilities expected in the 2030s.

What a lame conclusion – the fact that Europe wants to merely match Russia or even China or USA is somehow escalation? Only Russia China and USA are free to work on new missiles and weapons ?! So to keep Europe free and conflict free means to just let others do military and Europe to do what exactly?
