The European Commission (EC) found Apple in breach of the Digital Markets Act (DMA) over its anti-competitive App Store practices last month.

One of the EC’s main gripes concerned Apple’s anti-steering policies, which prevented users from accessing alternative payment distribution channels.

While Apple is appealing the €500 million fine, users across the European Union have noticed that Apple is now placing warning signs next to some apps that offer third-party payment options outside the App Store.

Apple has such petty management. They are transitioning from their innovative streak in the 00s to becoming a rent-seeking behememoth and it’s not pretty.

    3. Apple is doing this to scare users and get a percentage of purchases. I hope this is not in the spirit of the law and we will see more fines.

Good, I would like to get a notice if I can’t pay in the app.

Then why have it on their app store to begin with… Fuck Apple and Google.

This time last year I bought a new Mac, I regret it. I regret ever getting a smartphone anything. Life was so much easier with a Nokia in my pocket whose battery lasted forever. I called friends and sent the occasional sms. Now software glitches here, there… shit!

Funniest comments are the ones saying that Apple is turning into something “blahblahblah”.

Loos like you weren’t paying attention the last 20 years…

Apple’s hardware is still top notch. Chips, quality and engineering on their phones etc.

Software has been in steady decline for a decade.

Corporate ethics are now catching up with their software.

Overall, they had a good run from 2001 to now. But the decline is now inevitable.
