I mean Azerbaijan fully is like your average Central Asian country, and likely deserves that categorisation, but Christiane Amanpour, you of all people should know geography better than the average American… What a shame.
The guy dodged a few difficult questions that are almost impossible for him to answer (e.g. can the RV’s detention be related to his ties to Putin?), in an otherwise honestly a useless interview. Maybe a bit of awareness and a reminder that South Caucasus is still a mess of a region with autocracies acting totally wild and unchecked.
