> Fed up with being inside all day? Missing fresh air and nature?
I would love to work in a forest, but unfortunately it doesn’t pay as well as writing software and I have kids to feed.
Good for them, sounds terrible to me. I really like my work from home job. Regarding outside and air, I take a dog for a big walk on my lunch break every day
After 20 years in change management for a nefarious bank I swapped it all to be a gardener. It feels like I’ve retired.
Good for them, but theres privilege to “escaping the rat race” like this. You’d have to be in a position with a lot of savings and passive income streams to afford to make this kind of change.
If someone’s grinding at entry level for an 1700 quid injection into their account every month and are living paycheque to paycheque they can’t afford to shrug and do this.
Sounds wonderful, though not likely to be an achievable goal for most
It depends on the job. I may have been fitter working outdoors, but my joints have never been happier since I started working in an office/home
Good for them. Personnaly i actually like sitting on a computer all day.
People in the comments saying stupid shit like ‘i HaVe kIdS tO feEd’ well maybe work shouldn’t grind us down that we want to fuck off into the forest to pick berries and actually be able to have dignified and fulfilling lives whilst living normally?
There’s always some comfy hidden money behind these people, enabling their choices and minimising risk.
There’s loads of jobs where you spend time outside that pay better and are more common than these examples. I’d hate to be stuck to a screen all week
Sounds great, if only we didn’t need money to live.
It isn’t so cushy in November, either.
