      At this point is almost clear that the far right candidate has no chance of winning.

      I am so glad that this nightmare is over and we are still part of EU and NATO.

      This experience should be a lesson to the other countries that going through this right now because they will use the same technique and the same tools.

      They used lots of bots over tiktok, facebook, whatsapp and so on.

      To try and counter their attack we started talking with people (friends/family) that vote with him in the first round and who did not vote.

      We chose competence over noise. Balance over extremism.
      A clear message to Europe — and to our neighbors in Hungary and Poland: mature democracy is built on seriousness, transparency, and rule of law, not on populism or nationalist theatrics.
      Romania shows it can be done differently. Follow our lead.

      I was really worried there I was gonna have to wake up tomorrow, start to learn russian and look up recepies of beetroot. Now ND has to go out there, and in the next few years change what the other parties didn’t bother to for 3 decades. We are here to help him.

      It’s a massive victory against Russian influence and for a lot of people these elections were the first time they actually voted FOR someone, not necessarily choosing the lesser evil.

      Nicusor Dan is extremely popular with educated people and really charismatic and smart. He was actually the best possible choice out of all the candidates in these elections.

      Happy about the result, but this is just the pit stop, starting tomorrow the country needs to come to terms with the result and the parliament needs to start negotiations for a coalition government.

      Hopefully, we will start on a road towards the administrative and budgetary reforms that are wholly needed.

      I have to say…

      After 35 years of voting the lesser evil, Romanians have elected someone that is actually good. He is a fomer 2 times winner of Maths gold Olympics, with a 10/10 grade + PhD at Sorbonne. He is someone who statered from 0 a grass roots movement and has spent most of the decade of the 2000s battling corruption as an activist. He created the first political party that was started not by other politicians, but by the civil society. He is the mayor of the capital, someone that actually started doing things in Bucharest.

      He entered the election with no party backing him. People donated and volunteered for him in droves and, after entering the 2nd rounds of ellections, he magaged to win with around 54%, coming from just 21% compared to 41% for Simion.

      I can’t think of a better person to lead Romania in these times.
