It’s a reasonable point and fully coherent with the Alliance Party’s long standing policies, but the issues are firmly based in English politics, not in Northern Ireland. The whole topic of the EU and Brexit is still a massive trigger over there and realistically that’s where it always gets stuck.
I see a partial walk back happening, but it’s very unlikely to go much deeper than that. They’ll tiptoe around it with bilateral agreements and end up as an associate like Norway or more likely a pain in the arse like Switzerland tends to be.
