Is it called Dubai style chocolate because it’s a human rights violation?

We bought it, felt dirty afterwards and it wasn’t good

Jesus and I thought the €5 dupe of it in euro giant was mad expensive altogether for a bar of chocolate

Shame on lindt, jumping on this bandwagon… In a few months it will be like Prime drinks, Mr Price won’t be able to shift the shit.

Talk about a hype job. Last year there was some influencer who launched a drink and people were in a state of panic looking to buy it. Get a grip ffs.

‘Dubai chocolate’ is a social media fad. As pistachio flavoured chocolate goes, it’s not even nice. If someone pays €12.50 for that, they deserve a sucker punch to the tit.

Favorite part is it’s not even from Dubai, it was a British woman of Egyptian descent who made it. She named it “dubai” cause she thought it’d be easier to market to millennial who associate Dubai with expense and glamour.

FYI, Dubai chocolate was literally invented by an Egyptian woman.

It’s based on Egyptian kunafa, a desert popular throughout the Middle East.

As someone who lived in Egypt for three years, take it from me when I say that kunafa is a must try. There’s quite a few places that do it in major cities throughout Ireland. Most of them put their own spin on it, Syrian, Palestinian etc. But the Egyptian one is the OG.

B.Laban is opening up in London. Maybe they’ll open here one day too.

    9. Some people have too much money and not enough stupid shite to spend it on. Thankfully “influencers” are around to big up new crud (for a certain price) and some importer, hearing the oncoming rush of gullible sheep with a pent up desire to dent their bank account by purchasing something, anything, to briefly numb the sheer slow monotony of life, is only too happy to get a shipload of the product and then throw cards with several numbers up in the air, pick them up and regardless of what combination he picks them up, use that as the sale price. Doesn’t matter how insane it may be, the circling pack must have, must have, must have choccie from sandy place. Take the money.

I’ve had the non-commercial version of this in Yemeni coffee shops overseas for a couple of years. I like pistachio but I found a lot of it aggressively sweet for my taste (particularly if you’re already having a Middle Eastern style coffee or tea with sugar and spices).

I have no idea why this has gripped influencer culture here in particular. Kind of cringe.

stick … it …up … yer … hole. i’ll get a large dairymilk dark for 2.50 in tesco. Don’t buy into this shite.

    12. I have no idea what the fuss about this shite is. It’s horrible

    13. These aren’t even the real Dubai chocolates..the real recipe is copyrights protected for commercial use. The only thing that is similar are the ingredients and the name Dubai that can’t be sued for. Other than that, the real chocolate cost 25 per brick. In retro perspective we sell knock off ‘Dubai chocolate ‘ for 4 euros per brick and that’s already a scam.

      That… That doesn’t say 12.99…

Still wouldn’t buy it, still a rip off.
