Anyone keeping tally how many Reform members have done this so far?

No sanctions for the breach?
Not much of a lesson being learnt here, is there

Not really surprising, and I say this with a heavy heart, I see this sort of petty behaviour from Cllrs all the time. Of every affiliation.

These charlatans are going to demonstrate clearly who they are in their new councils, and why Reform is nothing more than a rattling empty can which makes noise from the sidelines, but are themselves incapable of governing. Local public services will grind to a halt in Reform-run councils, before the party is consigned to the dustbin of history in 2029.

Oh wow, this is totally shocking behaviour from a Reform official.
Although without sanctions this behaviour is being permitted.

Yet if you read many Derby based Facebook groups the support for him is bloody depressing.

Sounds like an escalating stupid spat between two councillors. Both of them sound extremely petty, and the Reform councillor took it too far by not keeping the argument behind closed doors, making himself look the pettiest of all.

“A Reform UK councillor in Derbyshire breached a council’s code of conduct after reading out extracts from a confidential report on social media, a hearing has found.”
“The 62-year-old will face no sanctions for the breach.”
“In the video, posted in November 2023, Graves blasted the “injustice” and the lack of transparency surrounding how the matter was treated. ”
Quite a few months ago. At the time he was the city mayor, he’s recently become the Reform leader.

This is because there’s absolutely no consequences for breaking the rules.
I suggested, a bit back, that we have rules for elected politicians and the parties they represent and, if you break the rules, the candidate is stripped stripped of their role and the party punished for standing them in the first place.
But apparently this isn’t fair because people _want_ to vote for thugs, bullies, fraudsters, sex pests and the like, so they should be allowed to.

“Sarah Chambers, a Sinfin Labour councillor, said in a now-deleted social media post that Graves was a “racist, xenophobic, misogynistic mayor”.
“Graves claimed he had sought a direct apology”
What was she supposed to be apologising for, did she miss something off the list?

I mean to be fair, he dosen’t exactly come off as a monster when you read the full story, arguably went a bit far but i’d imagine a lot of people would be fairly outraged about being accused of that stuff without any evidence and then being denied an apology, i mean we just had someone emailing David Lammy, saying comparable things, and they [faced criminal charges](https://www.echo-news.co.uk/news/24887507.tottenham-fan-southend-sent-abuse-emails-mp-david-lammy/). Whole thing feels like a playground spat between two councillors.

What an absolute shambles, how can people continue to support this and not open their eyes is truly horrifying. It’s either you don’t care or the quantity of vitriol for immigrants outweighs any rational thinking.

I wonder if farage has clamped down on reform councillors stepping down once they realise what the actual jobs entails

Hard as it to say I think he had a point. The now deleted social media post put up by the Labour councillor certainly breached the code of conduct, and her apology after investigation was grudging at best.
There will be worse to come and Labour need to be squeaky clean when complaining.
