We can say a lot of bad stuff about Ion Iliescu: mineriads, corruption and so on. But Iliescu is truly a left-wing person. He believes in the left. And the fact that the party he founded, the Social Democratic Party (PSD), refused to endorse Dan against far-right extremist Simion, probably angered him. So this might be a message for the social democrats actually, that they lost all their ideological coherence

iliescu: the guy whose idea of “democracy” involved miners beating protesters in the streets, now playing elder statesman and congratulating a centrist technocrat like its passing the torch? nah mate, that’s not a passing of the torch, thats a decrepit old toad trying to stay relevant by stapling himself to the current power like a parasite.

Fuck this guy and whatever he says, i don’t care that he approves Nicusor, he shouldn’t be praised for what he says or given any attention, he has no right to talk about our country and our choice because he has nothing to do with it.
He is the reason why we struggle with a corrupted, incompetent and ex-communist political class to this day, he is the reason why our country didn’t managed to let it’s communist past behind and look forward.
He and his people fucked us so bad and destroyed a chance of a better future, if USSR didn’t fall this guy would have sold us all to them because that was his first choice when he became president, get the support of russians.
