Population growth four times the EU average? Driven primarily by immigration, yet they act mystified by a chronic housing shortage and strain on public services.

The government needs to get serious about reducing net migration. That includes all categories: International Protection applicants, non-EU work visas, student visas, and dare I say it welfare-driven migration from within the EU.

Great to see. A country thrives by staying young. Young country = loads of new ideas. Old country = people stuck hankering after the past.

How much of that is migration? This is papering over the cracks.

We are pricing people out of having homes and therefore families.

An entire generation locked out of the housing market.

Yet there’s room for hundreds of thousands more in order to keep property prices high and sustain the old age pension.

What is the point of a nation state unless it looks after its own people?
