Social media needs to be tamed. ASAP! We are just not ready for it as society.

Unfortunately lads it’s culturally induced. Social media has made us aware of it but toxic masculinity and misogyny are rife in Irish culture. Yes, social media had made it more accessible for young men but the beliefs are already held by them or the people closest to them

Great news for gender equality, good on those boys closing the gap

This is not Irish specific. This is not teen specific. Heck, this is not specific to social media itself.

This has always been a thing. I came from mixed school.

All internet did was make it more visible. The perverted comments have been there from the beginning.

You will not be able to get rid of it. It’s futile. At least, this is nothing compared to how some students use AI to generate fake porn videos of teachers in South Korea with their faces…

Exponential just means the new number is a multiplicate of the prior number. “Significant” is the word usually meant. I’m surprised this doesn’t get called out more online. Are we not the pedants they think we are?

There is a kid in 3rd class in my sons school that is soooo misogynistic. But it comes from his family so its all he knows. The family have massive issues. His younger brother in Senior Infants is the same towards girls.
