Don’t know if you could call it visiting but I used to drink in McDaid’s the odd time when I worked in town.

Yeah. Rubbed his yazoo for luck too. Molly shouldn’t be the only one getting all the action.

Not seen the statue but it looks magnificent 🤩

Saw the man perform in Blackrock Park when I was young though.

A few years back I was in Dublin with my newborn son, visiting for the first time, naturally I had to take a selfie of me and my son next to Phil. This couple walks by smiling at us, asking to take our picture, once they took it, I returned the favour with their phone, telling them what kind legend Phil is. Your man says, yes he’s one of the best bassists, adding that he ‘played a bit himself’. We said our goodbyes, my wife catches up with me gasping for breath as the man that just took or photo was Sting himself 😂

    6. As a teenager I spent more time than I care to admit drinking in the basement of Bruxelles. I’ve second-hand nausea just from the photo.

    7. The title makes it sound like it’s in some out of the way boreen

Rare example of a modern statue actually looking like its subject.

My mother was a huge thin lizzy fan. She died 20 years ago so every time I’m in Dublin I make a little pilgrimage to the statue as a way of honouring her but the strangest thing happens every time I visit.

I always get chocolate stains on my pants.
