Great! I’m sure that’s that put to bed now and the press will never bring it up again. Right?

Do we really have to keep doing all this bullshit?
There are almost no MPs who wouldn’t fancy a shot at PM if the chance arose. This is just pointless chum in the water. Maybe one day political journalists will realise they could actually try doing some reporting of what actually happens in parliament instead of all this sideshow nonsense.

It would be funny if she only wanted to be one of them

I suppose lying is a core requirement of labour leader, so that’s a good start.

Angela Rayner says she ‘never’ wants to be Prime Minister or Labour leader until she has the opportunity to do so. Fixed the headline.

Oh cool, so three months till she’s leader then or is that just a Tory thing?

Well, if I thought she was telling the truth I’d say good. But as it is, I’ll say nothing!

I.e. she wants it now. Sees an opening hasnt she. Tbf we need someone tougher.

Find this line of questioning/reporting utterly tedious and pointless. Of-course she is going to say that. Hardly going to say “yes actually, I’d love to at some point and think I’d do a much better job” is she

Ok.
Why does this make national news as a public interest story?

Media trying to trap Rayner here. If she says she wants to be PM, then its more “labour infighting” if she says she doesn’t they will repeat this story non stop if she changes her mind.

The second a politician lays down a hard “never/always” is usually the exact same second when my lie detector blips…

Well, that’s good because she could be a Labour Teresa May but that’s about it.

Thank god. She could possibly top Starmer for being the worst prime minister appointed.

Completely pointless interview and question to watch live. Felt like something out of Fox News or some gutter broadcaster in the States.
Shambolic BBC journalism that is trying to stoke something that no one has noticed, doesn’t exist and no one cares about. Kuenssburg at her lowest and finest, as per usual. It seemed like an excuse to shoehorn yet another statement from Farage.

Considering the flack she gets at the moment, I wouldn’t be pretty if she was. The media wouldn’t be able to stand a strong willed northern woman taking over the reins.

I honestly don’t see the problem with an MP saying that they want to be prime minister or leader of the party. I think wanting to get a high position in your job is a very normal thing and I don’t see why it should be made out to be a bad thing like job aspirations are very normal. Saying you want to be PN one day doesn’t mean you want to overthrow the current leader
