Is it weird that they’re being referred to the Gardai instead of suing them or some such thing? What will the Gardai do?

Basically every consultant, general practitioner and home care company in the country is at this. Medserv reports make your eyes water.
In usual crap Irish Times journalism style they have conflated two things here. One is using a public clinic to schill for private business. This is obviously a civil matter, and the person should be investigated by HSE and medical council. The other is performing unnecessary surgery which would be assault and should be referred to the gardai.
